Standard: Chapter 19: Remembering Granny Part 2

I was on my bed, watching some boring talk show (because there wasn`t anything else to watch), when Marco came in. He knocked on the door, but I was to lazy to open it so he just walked in. I turned off the TV. "Hello." I said, yawning. "Hi. I was wondering, shouldn't`t you call your mom to tell her you have a cast?" asked Marco. I sat up. "Fine!" I replied, without energy. "I meant in the mourning. It`s 11:00 PM, and you should be sleeping." "You too, what about your big job interview in the mourning?" "OK, OK. We both have to get some sleep. And your mom too, so call in the mourning." "OK. Lets do it after your interview." I said. "My interview is at 5'o clock. Lets call at noon." Marco replied. Then I remembered something: "Hey, Marco?" "Yeah?" "My mom is staying here. A few days ago she called, to say she is staying in New York!" "Why?" "Beats me. I have no idea, though she did tell me she is staying on the 8th floor of the Plaza hotel, not to far from our hotel!" He smiled, and we fell asleep.

The next mourning before lunch, Marco drove me to the Plaza Hotel. "Hello. My name is Marco Bolt, and this is my girlfriend Anne Vocoshitz." said Marco to the hotel manager. "Hello. What would you want?" asked the manager. "Do you happen to know where... uh..." Then I pitched in. "Where Emily Vocoshitz`s room is?" The manager, nice as he is, told us that my mother was staying in room 876, on the 8th floor. Marco and I ran to the elevator (actually, I was on a wheel chair, but I did go fast!) and pressed the 8 button. Then Marco pushed me to my mom`s room. Marco knocked on the door. My mom opened it. She smiled. "Hello, you must be Marco. I remember Anne told me about you! But where is Anne?" my mom said. I hid behind Marco. Then she noticed a wheel (those wheels are pretty big.). "Anne, is that you? Come here." my mom gasped, barley breathing. Her youngest child with a broken ankle- The horror! "Hey, mom." I said, but in a secretive way. "Oh, Anne! What happened? Come inside, you and Marco." My mom replied, motioning us inside. Marco and Mom sat on the couch. I sat next to the couch, where Mom could see me. "So, Anne, what happened?" asked Mom. "I was Anna in The King And I play in the community theater. It was opening night. Nikki was in charge of the curtains, and in the middle of the play, she got a phone call from her boyfriend. She picked up, and let go of the rope. Soon enough- BAM! I have a broken ankle." I answered, thinking of the moment. "The farm!" my mom blurted out. "What, Mom?" I asked. "Before my mother died, she told you that if you stay in Kansas, she will always be with you." my mom answered, weeping. "Well, since you came here the farm is dead. Just...dirt! If by March 3 there isn`t even 1 seed growing... they will get rid of the farm... build a MINI MALL! Thats why I came here, to tell you. You probubley don`t care-" "No, Mom, I have a great idea..." I interupted. Yup, my idea was great, but it needed a little more than a plane ticket and a packet of seeds...
