Standard: Chapter 16: Good Luck!

"My name is Anna." I read off my script. "I am the king of Siam. Nice to meet you." Replied Marco. This went on for 2 hours everyday. Finally after 3 weeks of a lot of hard work I memorized my lines and it was time to go on Broadway.

It was opening night. "You are going to do great. I know you will." Marco whispered in my ear as we approached the theater. I went inside my dressing room and got my dress off a hanger. I fixed up my hair and got outside. I peeked at the audience. "Our show is sold out. You better be good." I heard someone say from behind me. As I turned around the voice started to giggle. It was Joan. "Hello. Marco takes forever to make his hair! Anyway, just so you know the curtains are going up in 5. Or maybe 10, if Marco`s ready." She left while laughing. I couldn`t help but at least giggle. I walked to Marco`s dressing room and saw him put extra styling gel on his hair. He noticed me. "Hi Anne. What are you doing here?" "I just wanted to wish you good luck." I told him. "Oh no!" "What?" I was confused. Marco explained, "In the theater bisness good luck means something bad will happen!" I shook my head and left as the curtain went up. What could go wrong?
